| Our 1st Generation started from Guanabacoa, Cuba. Our Founder had escaped slavery upon arriving in Cuba and did not resurface again until 1895. When he was ready to go into Semi-retirement while living in Conde, he started preparing his grandson to take over the very Nganga that he himself had received from his abuelo. When he felt that his grandson was ready, he went into retirement and his grandson "Flores" took over. "Flores" taught "Eduardo Guerra Travieso". "Eduardo Guerra" is linked to my great-grandfather - who in turn taught my grandfather. My Grandfather then taught my father- Tata Pati Mpemba Malongo Mayimbe Mpaka "Eduardo Calderon". By the age of 17 Tata Pati Mpemba Malongo Mayimbe Mpaka became 2nd Bacufula. Tata Pati Mpemba Malongo Mayimbe Mpaka gives many thanks for the lessons that he has learned over the years from family and friends. Especially the many times when he was allowed to just sit quietly and listen to his grandfather and Andres Petit talk for long hours about Palo. We also give blessings to Nsambi and to the Nfumbi, for the license of many lessons in our Mayombe Line, and to one of our elders "Enrique". It was thru his strength and knowledge that we are given license of brillumba and 7 star Nganga. In Sarabanda Paso Firme, it is our responsibility to help those that comes to us seeking help and / or guidance to their problems. We are a strict but very caring Mayombe Line.
